Thrush is a common bacterial infection that occurs on a horse’s hoof. This bacterium occurs naturally in a horse’s environment, usually when conditions are wet or muddy. Extra caution should be taken for horses with deep clefts, narrow or contracted heels as they are more prone developing thrush.
